seen better. Sporting Standard (free), Plus, and Professional versions and an
all-new, cleaner interface, Ad-aware still does a decent job scanning your hard
drive for suspicious components and offering the option to remove them. Once
our scan was complete, we got a list of adware components that could be right-clicked
for more information. During our first scan it managed to miss a couple of adware
programs, but with updated reference lists, this shouldn't be a problem in the
future. In addition to its scanning capabilities, you can now download plug-ins
to enhance Ad-aware's features, though only one was offered on its site at the
time of this review. Overall, Ad-aware is still a great, free application with
a couple of bugs that will probably be ironed out in future versions.
